Purpose: To
provide timely financial assistance for a broken legged Greyhound who
sustained an injury on a U.S. State Commissioned Track and that a
501(c)(3) adoption group is taking in for rehabilitation and adoption who
would otherwise not be accepted due to limited resources. ·
Scope: 1.
No more than one $1,000 Grant per
year or two $500 Grants per calendar year within six months time period. 2.
Grants given only to incoming
Greyhound candidates, not those already take in or adopted. 3.
Surgical or non-surgical treatment
of broken leg injuries of incoming injured racing Greyhounds. ·
Administration: 1.
The Fund will be maintained in the
GREYT Legs designated account. 2.
Review and approval of Grant
Applications will be the responsibility of the GREYT Legs President, Vice
President(s), Treasurer, Secretary, and Veterinarian Board Member/Advisor(s)
(three or more based on the discretion of the Officers). 3.
Every effort will be made to
approve requests within 48 hours of receipt of each Grant Application. ·
Application Criteria: This information
will be submitted on an Application Form to insure that all the criteria
are met. 1.
You must be a 501(c)(3) in good
standing. If you are not a
501(c)(3), please contact GREYT Legs. 2.
Broken leg sustained while racing
on a U.S. State Commissioned Track. 3.
An assessment of the scope of the
injury by attending veterinarian including an approximate treatment
estimate. A second opinion is
desired but not mandatory. 4.
The Greyhound will regain quality
of life as a retired pet, judgment made from attending veterinarian. 5.
You agree to support GREYT Legs
with tangible donations for fundraising for the West Coast Greyhound
Gathering and other fundraisers. 6.
Not more than one $1,000 Grant per
year or two $500 per calendar year within six months time period. 7.
Grants given only to incoming
Greyhound candidates, not those already taken in or adopted. 8. Greytlegs does not re-imburse groups for vet bills already paid 9. Greytlegs allows the group 10 business days to take possession of the injured dog from the track and to allow time for the dog to be properly evaluated by group's vet for qualification purposes of the grant. Greytlegs must have proof in writing confirming when the possession date of the dog was given to the group. This proof can be emailed as an attachment to: Email: greytlegs@cox.net ·
